Only one day left until the 16 days of Activism officially starts, and we are getting ready for it!

As of right now we are working with very fun and interesting project surrounding the 16 days of activism. We are working on a documentary on access to justice and life after SGBV, it will be made up in six chapters: enactment of SGBV, interaction with survivors, court issues, interview with survivors, issues of trauma and news reference to contextualize. Following to this project we are also making an animated video on rape and hopes to set the record straight on rape. The clip will feature an explanation on rape and going through different excuses on rape.

Expect for the two project we will arrange the following activities during the 16 days of activism

Firstly we will have Radio talk shows on Jambo radio, Ghetto radio, Pamoja FM, and Koch FM on sexual gender based violence. The talk show will include guest speakers and Kituo staff talking on how SGBV affects girls’ education. It will be 2 talks per station. (Specific dates: TBA)

Kituo is collaborating with Kimbilio trust to create awareness on the dangers, prevalence and consequences of violence against women. The walk will end with a legal aid clinic on 26th of November where there will be a volunteer advocate and 3 in house lawyers and one AGCP staff coordinating and providing free legal clinic to clients.

In the interest of mainstreaming and including person with disabilities in our activities; Kituo will converge together with person living with disabilities on the 3rd of December at Mkuru KwaNjenga to celebrate the international day for person with disabilities. The thing for the day is inclusion matters; access and empowerment for people of all abilities. The day will be celebrated under the Comic Relief budget as the projects targets person living with disabilities. In facilitating access to justice in eviction and sexual gender based violence matters.
